Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has opined that the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni will demote himself in the batting order in the Qualifier 1 match against Delhi Capitals (DC), which will begin tonight at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
While previewing the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) vs Delhi Capitals (DC) encounter on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chorpa mentioned that he believes Dhoni will promote Ravindra Jadeja and Dwayne Bravo over himself in the batting order in the high profile clash. He stated:
“I feel Dhoni will not come to bat up the order. You will see Jaddu and probably even Bravo bat ahead of Dhoni. This is what I am expecting.”
The cricketer-turned-commentator added that there is no confirmation on the availability of Suresh Raina, and his replacement Robin Uthappa has not done anything good with the bat. Aakash Chopra said:
“I have no idea about Raina’s availability, whether he has been dropped or he has an injury; we have no idea. Robbie hasn’t been doing well.”
Ruturaj Gaikwad Will Be Targeted With Bouncers – Aakash Chopra
The 44-year-old feels that the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) opener Ruturaj Gaikwad will be bowled short-pitched deliveries, but he will not lose his wicket to a bouncer. Aakash Chopra elaborated:
“Ruturaj Gaikwad will be targeted with bouncers because he has been dismissed off bouncers in two consecutive innings. First, Anrich Nortje and then Arshdeep Singh. I feel he will not be dismissed by a bouncer in this innings (though). He will be fine.”
Further, Aakash Chopra stated that Axar Patel will be handed over the ball against man in form Faf Du Plessis and England all-rounder Moeen Ali will be bombarded with bouncers. He elaborated:
“Faf du Plessis almost carried his bat through in the last match. You will find that Axar Patel will come early to bowl to him. I am seeing that matchup. Once Moeen Ali comes, bouncers will surely be bowled to him.”
