India and Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli has reached home safely following the suspension of IPL 2021 by the BCCI on Tuesday. BCCI had no choice but to suspend the 14th edition of IPL after a handful of COVID-19 positive cases emerged within the bubble. Virat Kohli was seen getting out of a car and going inside his residence in Mumbai.
Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore were to play the Kolkata Knight Riders on Monday; however, the match had to be postponed. The reason behind the postponement was two Knight Riders cricketers in Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier had tested positive for COVID-19 hours before the game; hence, the entire camp went into isolation.
A day later, the crisis deepened as SunRisers Hyderabad’s Wriddhiman Saha and Delhi Capitals’ Amit Mishra also emerged as COVID-19 positive. Hence, the BCCI ascertained that it was no longer feasible to continue the tournament and called it off immediately. While the Indian cricket board is targetting the September window to conduct the remaining 31 matches, it looks unlikely.

Virat Kohli struggled for the most part of IPL 2021:
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli’s form with the bat was not as per fans’ expectations as he struggled to hit the top gear. The 32-year old managed only one fifty in seven matches, along with three thirty-plus scores to go with. But the Royal Challengers Bangalore were firmly in control of their campaign as they remained in the second spot after five wins and two defeats. In their last game before the event’s suspension, the three-time runners-up suffered a 34-run defeat to Punjab Kings in Ahmedabad.
