IPL 2021: MS Dhoni Gives A Big Update Whether He Will Play For CSK In Next IPL Or Not
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni gave an update regarding his availability for the IPL 2022 mega auction and whether he will continue playing for the Chennai franchise. He is currently leading CSK against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in their final league game on Thursday.
Dhoni had earlier stated that the fans are likely going to be able to come to Chepauk where he would like to play his ‘farewell game’. For the next season, the franchisees will undergo major changes and two new teams will also be added. Dhoni reckoned he is likely to continue playing in yellow but he was unsure whether it would be CSK.
“You’ll see me in yellow next season but whether I’ll be playing for CSK you never know. There are a lot of uncertainties coming up, two new teams are coming, we don’t know what the retention rules are and so on,” the 40-year-old said.
The Chennai squad is going into the final league game with the same side as the one which lost to Delhi Capitals last week. Robin Uthappa has been given another opportunity to prove his worth in place of Suresh Raina, who has been woefully out of form.
As for Punjab, Nicholas Pooran was dropped from the side after a string of low scores. His chances seemed to have run out and England pacer, Chris Jordan was brought in his place. CSK is very likely to finish in the top two unless something dramatic happens in the final round. As for PBKS, they need a miracle to qualify for the playoffs. They are in sixth place with five wins in thirteen matches.
