The former Australia cricketer Matthew Hayden has opined that the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni is the most valuable player in the marquee Indian Premier League (IPL) despite him not being in his form.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has been doing great under the leadership of legendary Indian captain MS Dhoni. After failing to qualify for the playoffs for the first time in the history of the tournament in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. They made an exceptional comeback in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.

Currently, MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are the top-ranked side in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 with 16 points (8wins & 2 losses) in 10 games. However, Dhoni has only managed to score 52 runs in 10 IPL games in 2021.

Talking about MS Dhoni former Australian batsman Matthew Hayden lauded the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain and said that despite being older he remains a crucial part of the Chennai franchise.

“Most valuable player, even though he hasn’t had the best of tournaments so far, is still MS Dhoni. As a leader of the side, he is absolutely rising to the challenge. He is older obviously but he has got the reigns and he is cracking them hard and his side is responding,” Hayden said on Star Sports.

Further, Matthew Hayden highlighted that Dwayne Bravo is making an impact on the Indian Premier League and said:

“Guys like DJ Bravo, for example, that are making their impact on this tournament albeit in a way that’s small but each component of the team is playing in unison,”

Meanwhile, On Thursday, September 30 MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will lock horns with Kane Williamson-led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 44th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
