Openers: Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw

The duo gave sensational starts in the first half of the competition but has failed to replicate those performances in UAE. Prithvi Shaw looked good in the last game before getting out on 18 off 12.

Shikhar Dhawan hasn’t looked at his very best. He played an uncharacteristic knock of 39 runs off 35 balls against CSK. However, with the knockouts coming ahead, Delhi wouldn’t be looking to make a change in the opening combination.

Middle-order: Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Ripal Patel and Shimron Hetmyer

Shreyas Iyer has made a great comeback in the second leg of the tournament. He has played an instrumental role in Delhi’s success in the second leg of the tournament. In 5 matches, he has managed to score 106 runs. Though, his strike rate of 106 remains a concern.

Skipper, Rishabh Pant has played the way he wants to. He has been ultra-aggressive and has also lost his wicket at crucial stages in the game because of that. With Marcus Stoinis not in the eleven, Pant needs to ensure he stays till the end and play a bit more maturely.

Ripal Patel was added to the eleven in the last game. He scored 12 runs off 18 balls. It wasn’t the best of knocks but the franchise should give him one more chance to show his potential. Shimron Hetmyer held his nerves and played an unbeaten 12-ball 18-run knock to guide his team home in the last game. He would be riding high on confidence.

All-rounders: Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin

The duo is bowling beautifully and thus are likely to share the spin bowling unit. Axar Patel returned with figures of 2 for 18, while Ashwin picked 1 for 20. Both have also been handy with the bat and give them runs down the order.

Bowlers: Kagiso Rabada, Avesh Khan and Anrich Norje

Given the way the trio is bowling, all three are likely to be persisted in the playing XI. Avesh is the second-highest wicket-taker in the tournament, having picked 22 wickets in 13 matches.

Nortje picked one wicket in the last game but was a bit expensive. Rabada couldn’t pick any wicket for Delhi Capitals but gave away just 21 runs in his quota of overs.
