RR batted first in the match. RR opener Jos Buttler smacked a century of 124 runs off just 64 balls. Skipper Sanju Samson also hit spectacular 48 runs. With their powerful knocks, RR reached a mammoth total of 220/3 batting first.

Later, Sunrisers Hyderabad openers Manish Pandey and Jonny Bairstow scored 31 and 30 runs respectively. Later, one-down Kane Williamson hit 20 runs and no other batsmen could reach the 20-run mark. SRH lost wickets at regular intervals. In the end, they could reach only 165-8. Hence, they lost the match by 55 runs in the end. RR bowlers Mustafizur Rahman and Chris Morris picked 3 wickets each.

In their last encounter, SRH lost to Punjab Kings. SRH had a target of just 126 but the team could not bat well against the PBKS bowling attack. Wriddhiman Saha scored 31 and Jason Holder scored 47 runs but they could not get the winning runs. In the end, SRH reached 120-7 and lost the match by 5 runs.
