IPL 2021: Watch: Franchise Captains Engage In Banter Ahead Of The Second Leg Of The IPL

The IPL 2021 is all set to resume on September 19 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Mumbai Indians (MI) take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the opening clash of the second leg at the Dubai International Cricket stadium.

Ahead of the big clash, the official broadcasters Star Sports posted a video of the captains and players of the franchises having a hilarious conversation. The promotion of the league is in full flow and this was a great attempt at getting the fans excited.

Team India regulars Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were seen in the video alongside budding youngsters Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, and other prominent members. The network captioned the video:

The IPL 2021 season so far

Delhi Capitals (CSK) have the top spot on the points table with six wins in eight matches. Rishabh Pant has led well in place of Shreyas Iyer, who makes a return to the side for the second leg. CSK and RCB have five wins in seven games, while fourth-placed MI has four wins in seven games.

The bottom four sides, Rajasthan Royals (RR), Punjab Kings (PBKS), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have their work cut out if they are to make the playoffs.

Shikhar Dhawan holds the orange cap with 380 runs in eight games for DC. KL Rahul comes in a close second having continued his good IPL form. As for the purple cap, RCB’s quick bowler Harshal Patel is in the lead having picked up 17 wickets in seven matches. DC’s Avesh Khan has been the pick of the bowlers, with 14 wickets at a healthy economy rate.
