Punjab Kings all-rounder Moises Henriques had a comical moment in the ongoing clash against the Kolkata Knight Riders in Ahmedabad. During Moises Henrques’ brief stay in the middle, the all-rounder lost his bat while trying to go for a cut shot outside off. Henriques failed to rescue Punjab Kings’ innings from faltering and departed in the 14th over.
The incident occurred in the 12th over when Sunil Narine delivered a ball outside off and Moises Henriques wanted to put it away for a boundary by playing a square cut. Instead, he could not connect the ball and the bat went flying towards square leg. Fortunately, Henriques was able to complete the run, sprinting at the non-striker’s end without the bat.
Moises Henriques exited the crease two overs later as Sunil Narine accounted for him with an off-break that went through the gates to knock the stumps. The right-handed batsman managed only two runs as Punjab Kings’ scorecard bore for ugly reading. Mayank Agarwal top-scored with 31, while Chris Jordan’s late fireworks carried Punjab to 123 in 20 overs. Prasidh Krishna was the pick of the bowlers, claiming figures of 4-0-30-3.
