IPL 2021: Watch - Sakshi Dhoni, Ziva, Celebrate After MS Dhoni Hits Finishing Runs vs DC In Qualifier 1

CSK skipper MS Dhoni provided the finishing touches in Qualifier 1 against Delhi Capitals (DC) to take his side into their 9th IPL final. Dhoni’s wife Sakshi, and daughter, Ziva were seen celebrating after he hit the winning runs off Tom Curran in Dubai on Sunday.

It was a great batting effort from the Chennai franchise after being set a tough target of 173 on a good batting pitch. CSK needed 13 off the last over and it was bowled by DC’s best bowler on the night, Tom Curran. Dhoni was on strike in the last five balls after Moeen Ali fell on the first.

The 40-year-old skipper read Curran’s slower deliveries to perfection. He put the hat-trick delivery away for a boundary on the off-side, before a lucky inside-edge got him four more. With 4 needed off the last 2 balls, Dhoni pulled one to the deep square leg boundary to finish off the match in style.

In the stands, Sakshi Dhoni and their daughter, Ziva, were seen hugging and celebrating the win. They were jubilant after seeing MS Dhoni hit the winning runs after a long time. The win also ended CSK’s three-match losing streak and took them into a record 9th IPL final.

For DC, they now await the winner of tomorrow’s eliminator between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). The winner of Qualifier 2 will then meet CSK in the grand finals in Dubai on October 15.
