The social media banter between franchises in the Indian Premier League has become a commonplace event ever since the growth of multiple social media platforms. On Friday, another such banter took place between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) after match 26 of IPL 2021 came to a close between the two teams.
Punjab and Bangalore locked horns against each other in a grueling encounter on Friday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Having won the toss, Royal Challengers Bangalore’s skipper, Virat Kohli, elected to bowl first. The Punjab Kings batsmen got off to a flier after losing an early wicket, thanks to Chris Gayle and their skipper, KL Rahul.

KL Rahul scored yet another scintillating half-century and a quickfire 25 off just 17 balls from Harpreet Brar helped Punjab Kings finish on a very strong total of 179 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their 20 overs. As the Royal Challengers Bangalore batsmen walked out to bat, the PBKS bowlers gave them no room to control the game and this led to RCB losing the game eventually by 34 runs.
After the game, the Punjab Kings’ entire team was extremely elated as they desperately needed a win in this match to remain in contention of a top-four finish in IPL 2021. Like the team, their social media team was also ecstatic over the win and they tried to take a dig at RCB. After the game, the PBKS Twitter handle shared a picture of the Royal Challengers Bangalore dugout with their sad faces.
They took to Twitter and wrote, “Yahan pe sab shanti shanti hai” This means, “Everything is so quiet here”

However, the RCB admins were quick to respond and show their witty side as they replied, “Because we neither go overboard when we win, nor over analyse a loss.” Alongside, they also shared a picture of the IPL 2021 points table, clearly indicating that they are ahead of Punjab even after the loss last night.
