Delhi Capitals is gearing up for IPL 2023 auction so that they can grab a few good deals to strengthen their squad. IPL 2023 auction is set to take place next month on December 23. The venue of the event is Kochi city in Kerala.

Recently, Delhi Capitals announced their list of retained and released players. The franchise has retained a total of 20 players in their squad. They released 4 players from the team. Some top players that DC retained in their squad are Rishabh Pant, Anrich Nortje, Axar Patel, Prithvi Shaw, David Warner, and Rovman Powell among others.

Delhi Capitals gave a good performance last year in IPL 2022 but failed to qualify for playoffs. The team played 14 games. They won 7 matches and lost 7 games. With 14 points, they finished in the 5th position in the points table and failed to qualify for playoffs.

Delhi Capitals has never managed to win the IPL trophy. The Rishabh Pant-led side reached the final in the 2020 edition but lost to Mumbai Indians and ended as runners-up. Delhi Capitals have retained a total of 20 players in their squad. Out of these, there are 14 domestic players and 6 overseas players. Some popular domestic players that DC has retained are Rishabh Pant, Prithvi Shaw, Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav.

Some key overseas players that DC has retained in the squad for IPL 2023 are David Warner, Anrich Nortje, David Warner, and Rovman Powell. DC has also traded Aman Khan for Shardul Thakur with Kolkata Knight Riders.
