The Delhi Capitals selected a well-rounded team in the 2022 mega auction. However, midway through the season, COVID-19 shocked them. Despite this, Rishabh Pant and company played some outstanding cricket to qualify for the playoffs.

Unfortunately, the Capitals fell to Mumbai Indians in their final group-stage match, missing out on a playoff spot by the narrowest of margins. They were forced to settle for fifth place. The team management would attempt to make the required adjustments to their squad as the mini-auction for the following season drew near.

The Delhi-based franchise signed Pravin Dubey as an injury replacement for Amit Mishra in the 2020 edition. The franchise picked the Leggie once again in the 2022 edition, but the youngster didn’t get any games during the entire season.

The 29-year-old has been a consistent performer in a shorter format in the Indian domestic circuit. Speaking of domestic T20s, he has accounted for 20 wickets in 22 matches at a brilliant economy rate of 7.13. However, Delhi Capitals have two quality spinners in Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav in their ranks.

Meanwhile, they also have Lalit Yadav as another spin-bowling option in their playing XI. Hence, Pravin Dubey is way behind in the pecking order. Delhi Capitals could release the leg-spinner as they might opt to sign any young player keeping the future in mind.
