IPL 2023 Auction: 3 Punjab Kings (PBKS) Players Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) Can Target. Lucknow Super Giants were one of the two new franchises that made their debut in IPL 2022. The Lucknow-based franchise became the first one to represent Uttar Pradesh in the Indian Premier League. KL Rahul was named the captain of the team. The team management formed a stellar squad at the IPL 2022 mega auction.

As expected, LSG made it to the playoffs in their debut season, but they could not win the title. Lucknow finished third on the points table, meaning they had to play in the Eliminator match. Royal Challengers Bangalore knocked them out of the competition by defeating them in the Eliminator match.

Lucknow Super Giants may release Indian batter Manish Pandey, Australian fast bowler Andrew Tye, and Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis because of his hefty price tag.

After the IPL 2022 mega auction, the cricket legends weighted Punjab Kings among the probable teams to reach the playoff and even win the IPL trophy. The reason was that they had a very good team comprising a bunch of talented utility players who could single-handedly win matches for the franchise.

But, after the IPL league stage finished, the Mayank Agarwal-led team found themselves packing their bags with just 7 wins from 14 matches, finishing the IPL 2022 points table in the 6th position. There will be a lot of brainstorming from now leading up to the 16th edition of the IPL. The likes of Shahrukh Khan, Benny Howell, Sandeep Sharma, Vaibhav Arora, and even IPL 2022 skipper Mayank Agarwal may be released by the franchise.

Punjab Kings (PBKS) left no stone unturned to have 27 years old Shahrukh Khan back in the TATA IPL 2022 auction, spending INR 9 Crores but he scored only 117 runs in 8 games averaging a mere 16.71 with a below-par strike rate of 108.33.

In IPL 2021, he scored 153 runs in 11 games averaging 21.85 and a strike rate of 134.21. He was a first-choice pick for PBKS initially but failed to provide the explosive finishes that he was capable of. PBKS opted to have Jitesh Sharma as their finisher who did a better job with 234 runs in 12 matches at a strike rate of 163.34 in IPL 2022. Shahrukh Khan may be picked up by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) as they would want a designated finisher in the IPL 2023 squad.

Sandeep Sharma

Right-arm medium pacer from Punjab, Sandeep Sharma made his first-class debut in 2011 and earned a contract with the Kings XI Punjab – now Punjab Kings – ahead of IPL 2013. He was bought back by the franchise in the IPL 2014 Auction.

He has earned high praise from experts for his ability to swing the ball and has played a key role for his state side, Punjab. While he then went on to play for Sunrisers Hyderabad, he is back to a side- Punjab Kings in IPL 2022-where it all started for him in the IPL. He has picked 114 scalps in 104 IPL games averaging 26.33 at an economy of 7.77. He may be picked up by Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2023 if he’s released by PBKS ahead of IPL 2023 auctions.

Prabhsimran Singh

Punjab Kings’ 22-year-old Prabhsimran Singh is a good option for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in IPL 2023. With Jonny Bairstow and Jitesh Sharma in the Punjab Kings squad, the youngster might not get too many chances. As seen in domestic events, Prabhsimran Singh can be dangerous.

With a good partner for him, the Punjab cricketer can be a wise option as an opener in IPL 2023 for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Prabhsimran Singh – the Patiala-based wicketkeeper-batsman – continued his stint with Punjab Kings after being bought for INR 60 Lac during the TATA IPL 2022 auction. He has scored 64 runs in 6 games after debuting in IPL 2019 averaging 10.67.
