IPL 2023 Auction: 5 Bengal Players KKR Can Target. Kolkata Knight Riders head into the IPL 2023 auction with the lowest remaining purse at 7.05 crores. They retained 14 players and need 21 players in the upcoming auction. After making the finals in IPL 2021, KKR finished with six wins and eight losses under Shreyas Iyer. 

Every franchise has a total salary cap of Rs. 95 crores in the auction. During the retentions, the 10 teams retained 163 players in their squad. Now, there are 87 slots available overall during IPL 2023 auction. SRH has the highest remaining purse with over 40 crores in their bank and KKR with 7.05 crores has the least purse remaining heading into the auction.

IPL 2023

The IPL 2023 auction will be held in Kochi on December 23. A total of 991 players are set to go under the hammer in the upcoming auction. There are 714 Indian players and 277 overseas players in total. 21 players have registered themselves for a base price of 2 crores all of whom are overseas players.

The veteran Bengal cricketer is the current Minister of State for Youth Services and Sports of West Bengal. He was a part of the Bengal Vijay Hazare Trophy squad, India’s domestic 50-over tournament. However, he did not play too many games. Tiwary has played for KKR, Delhi Capitals, Rising Pune Super Giants, and Punjab Kings previously in the IPL and can make a comeback into the IPL if KKR picks him at the auction. He last played in the IPL in 2018.
