IPL 2023 Auction: Delhi Capitals (DC) Players, Squad, Retained Players List, Released Players List, Purse Value, Schedule, Players List.  Delhi Capitals who still wait to enlist their name in the IPL winners list ended up in 5th position in the last IPL season-IPL 2022.

Delhi Capitals have won 7 games in the 14 games they played and pushed to 5th position in the IPL 2022 Points Table with a total point of 14. GMR Sports Pvt. Ltd & JSW Sports Pvt Ltd owned team have been inconsistent throughout the IPL 2022 season.

It is learned that ahead of IPL 2023 auction, all teams are asked to submit their final list of retained players by November 15, 2022. In order to avoid a massive collapse all teams will look to retain their star performers and will release the rest.

It is expected that all teams will retain a maximum of 15 players ahead of the tournament. The likes of Mandeep Singh, KS Bharat, were released by the franchise before IPL 2023.

The Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals franchise has let go of experienced pacer Shardul Thakur and in exchange has roped in uncapped Aman Khan from the Kolkata Knight Riders. Among the other released players, two served as backup ‘keepers to Rishabh Pant – KS Bharat and Tim Seifert. Therefore, come the auction, Delhi will be looking for a gloveman. With a remaining purse of Rs. 19.45 crore that shouldn’t be much of a problem.

In addition to the purse remaining from the previous auction and the value of the players each side has released, the teams have an additional Rs 5 crore to spend in the upcoming auction — to be held in Kochi on December 23 — taking the overall purse tally to Rs 95 crore. Delhi will have two overseas slots to fill.

Delhi Capitals have been one of the most consistent in the last few seasons. The reason has been the fact they had continuity in their squad for the last few years. Players like skipper Rishabh Pant, Prithvi Shaw, Anrich Nortje, and Axar Patel have stayed in the franchise for quite some time now and formed a strong core.

New players like Rovman Powell, Mitchell Marsh, and David Warner seemed to have settled in nicely, forming a deadly combination, and this augurs well for the team in the coming season.
