Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) retained 14 players ahead of the IPL 2023 auction set to be held in Kochi on December 2023. They also have the least remaining purse (7.05Cr) heading into the auction. The Knight Riders released as many as 15 players including both their keepers Sheldon Jackson and Sam Billings. 

All 10 franchises will be part of the IPL 2023 auction and try to induct some powerful players into their squads. For IPL 2023, all the franchises can retain a maximum of 15 players in their squads. All the franchises need to have at least 18 or a maximum of 25 players in their squads for the next IPL season.

IPL 2023 auction will witness an increased salary cap of Rs. 95 crores from last year’s cap of Rs. 90 crores. A total of 991 players are set to go under the hammer in the upcoming IPL 2023 auction in Kochi on December 23. There are 714 Indian players and 277 overseas players in total. 21 players have registered themselves for a base price of 2 crores all of whom are overseas players.

1) N Jagadeesan

Jagadeeshan was in terrific form in the just concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy. He broke several batting records after scoring 277 against Andhra Pradesh in one of the games. He ended the season with 830 runs from 8 matches averaging 138.33 and striking at 125.38. He scored five hundred in the campaign. In need of an Indian keeper, KKR should go hard to get him. The Tamil Nadu cricketer was released by CSK during the retention window.
