IPL 2023: "I Hope This Dream Comes True"- Rahmanullah Gurbaz Expresses His Desire To Play Against MS Dhoni

Rahmanullah Gurbaz of the Kolkata Knightriders stated he hopes his goal of playing in the IPL with Mahendra Singh Dhoni of the Chennai SuperKings comes true.
Gurbaz was a member of the Gujarat Titans’ IPL champion team last season, but despite being brought in to fill in for England’s Jason Roy, he never saw action.

AB de Villiers And MS Dhoni Inspirations For Rahmanullah Gurbaz
Just before the IPL 2023 auction, the Afghan wicketkeeper was transferred to KKR. Gurbaz just made a name for himself being one of the most intriguing T20I talents, and he is hopeful that one day he will be able to compete in the IPL arena with Dhoni.
The 21-year-old said to Hindustan Times that he has always imagined playing with the former India skipper and AB de Villiers. He claimed that De Villiers was his hero and that the former South African captain was someone he grew up idolizing.

Gurbaz continued by expressing his desire to play alongside CSK captain MS Dhoni in the future and against him in 2023.
“I had two players in my life I want to play with but unfortunately, I did not play with them. One was AB de Villiers. I was really inspired by him. He was my idol. I followed him a lot from my childhood. He is retired now but one thing that I hope is possible this year is to play with MS Dhoni, against him and with him but in one game. I hope this dream comes true,” said Gurbaz.
Gurbaz praised the management for placing their belief in him in a letter to the supporters of the two-time IPL Champions after being moved to KKR.
