Former India skipper and BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has stated that Rishabh Pant will not be fit for the IPL 2023 as he emerges from a devastating car accident that left him with several injuries.
Pant was evacuated from Dehradun to a Mumbai hospital last week for knee surgery.

Pant captains the Delhi Capitals in the IPL, and rumours suggest that if the wicketkeeper-batter is unable to play in the upcoming season, Australian David Warner may step in.
“Rishabh Pant will not be available for the IPL. I am in connection with Delhi Capitals. It will be a great IPL (for the team), we will do well but Rishabh Pant’s injury will affect the Delhi Capitals,” Ganguly was quoted as saying by Sports Today.

Pant is being treated at the Kokilaben Ambani Hospital, and his ligament injury is expected to recover in three to four months. The IPL 2023 season is set to begin in the last week of March.
Rishabh Pant’s car collided with a divider on December 30:
Pant, 25, was travelling on the Delhi-Dehradun highway on December 30 when his car crashed with a divider. He was able to get out of the truck before it took fire.
He was sent to a private hospital in Dehradun after receiving emergency care at a local institution before the BCCI opted to transport him to Mumbai to complete his treatment.
“Rishabh has two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee, and has also hurt his right wrist, ankle, toe and has suffered abrasion injuries on his back,” the BCCI said in a statement last week.
As per reports, Pant’s primary goal is to be fit for the ODI World Cup, which will be held in India later this year.
