The IPL Auction 2023 happened on Friday and a number of players broke the bank while some big names went unsold. But amid all the action, it was Sunrisers owner Kavya Maran who stole the show.
The Indian Premier League’s 2016 Champions, Sunrisers Hyderabad, had a miserable last two seasons, finishing in the bottom three of the standings. Kane Williamson and Nicholas Pooran, two prominent players who were let go by the Orange Army, will be replaced by the best candidates. Kavya Maran is the daughter of businessman Kalanithi Maran, who is the founder of SUN TV group. The same group owns the Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise.
She was referred to as the “mystery girl” when she initially appeared at the IPL auction because so few people were familiar with her.
