IPL Auction 2023: Suresh Raina Identifies Five Cricketers Who Will Attract Huge Bids In The IPL Auctions

Suresh Raina, a former cricketer for India, gave his thoughts on the forthcoming IPL Auction 2023 on Friday (December 23). The 36-year-old has identified five players in Kochi’s forthcoming mini-auction who should be on the lookout for.

During the IPL Auction for the 2023 season, Raina, also known as Mr. IPL, will be a member of the JioCinema experts’ panel. The left-handed hitter discussed which top national and international players he believes would attract significant offers on D-Day.

Suresh Raina selected five players from the 405 players shortlisted by all ten franchises for the auction. In his stellar career, Raina has played 205 IPL games and amassed 5528 runs.

The former cricketer for the Chennai Super Kings chose Jaydev Unadkat and N Jagadeesan from among the Indian players, both of whom have had a strong domestic campaign.

Unadkat, a left-arm pacer, concluded with 19 wickets in 10 games at an economy rate of 3.33, and for Tamil Nadu, Jagadeesan amassed five straight hundreds, the last of which was a record-breaking 277 against Arunachal Pradesh.

“Sam Curran and Ben Stokes will be the favorites”: Suresh Raina

Suresh Raina stated, “Sam Curran has performed admirably for both England and the Chennai Super Kings, and England has been well guided by Ben Stokes. Having a top all-rounder on your squad might so alter the flow of the game. Then there’s Jaydev Unadkat, who recently won the Vijay Hazare Trophy and has much of IPL experience.”

Joshua Little, an Irish fast bowler, was also singled out by Suresh Raina as a player to watch out for after a standout T20 World Cup in which he grabbed 11 wickets in seven games.

The IPL 2023 Auction will take conducted on December 23 in Kochi, with 10 teams initially shortlisting 369 candidates from a list of 991 players. Thirty-six additional players were later included based on franchise requests, making a total of 405 names available for auction.
