Chennai Super Kings (CSK) won the toss & elected to bowl first against Mumbai Indians (MI) at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Ajinkya Rahane & Dwaine Pretorius came into the side in place of injured Ben Stokes & Moeen Ali. Ravindra Jadeja will have to lead the spin attack in the absence of Moeen Ali. There are chances that Ravindra Jadeja would be promoted up the order.

MI on the other side took a precautionary step & rested Jofra Archer for the clash. MI strengthened their batting lineup & included Tristan Stubbs. MI got off to a great start as they scored  61 runs in the power-play overs for the loss of 1 wicket. MI’s batters unleashed an attack & were quite ruthless.

Ishan Kishan was dismissed on 32 runs in 21 balls & struck 5 fours. MI’s score at that time was 64-2 in 6.4 overs

MI’s score at that time was 73-4 in 8.2 overs. Skipper MS Dhoni would be considering giving one more over to Ravindra Jadeja. Jadeja has shown good control over his line & length. The peculiarity of Ravindra Jadeja is that he hasn’t given ample room to MI’s batting unit.

Great Chance for CSK

CSK would be quite pleased with the way they have pulled things back. MS Dhoni would be well aware of the fact that Tim David & Tristan Stubbs are yet to come who can play can smash a breezy cameo at the back end of the innings. The role of Tilak Verma becomes quite pivotal, he will have to stay till the end of the innings.

CSK must restrict MI below 160 because MI have got the veteran leg spinner present in the form of Piyush Chawla who could fox the batters with his variations. Sisanda Magala had a terrible start to IPL 2023, he gave away 28 runs in his 2 overs; MS Dhoni will have to use him smartly in the death overs.
