Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are all set to lock horns with the mighty Rajasthan Royals (RR) on 23rd April (*Sunday) at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore. This is the 5th match as RCB have won twice and this is the first day game at the venue.
RCB would be riding high on confidence after defeating Punjab Kings (PBKS) under the regime of stand-in skipper Virat Kohli. RCB will have to strengthen their batting lineup as every time Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli & Glenn Maxwell won’t amass runs.

RR on the other hand were blown hot & cold against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) when they lost the match by 10 runs even when they were in a state of ascendancy.
The management perhaps needs to promote the likes of Jason Holder or Dhruv Jurel up the order as Riyan Parag has been struggling to clear the fence. RR are placed at the top of the points table with 4 wins from 6 matches with a superior net run rate of +1.04

RR skipper Sanju Samson won the toss & opted to bowl first. Sanju Samson was quite optimistic that RR’s bowling unit would restrict RCB to a decent score.
“We’ll bowl first. Looking at the conditions, our side and their side. So we’d prefer bowling. The dressing room is simple, honest and we need to respect the way we are playing. We are starting with the same XI, might add someone later on,” said Sanju Samson.
RCB interim skipper Virat Kohli made it clear that the side wanted to bat first anyway. Virat Kohli pointed out that the pitch would get drier.
Virat Kohli stated that the management wanted him to lead the side for a couple of matches. RCB made one change as David Willey came in place of Wayne Parnell. Virat Kohli also mentioned that Faf will continue to play as an impact player.
“It was pretty easy to choose, we’d have batted first. This wicket looks dry and it will get drier and might break up first. I didn’t say that to Sanju, but I’m very happy to bat first. We both get to do what we wanted. They informed me last time saying I might have to captain a couple of games, nothing I’m not used to doing. So I’m happy to step in, ready to continue from whatever Faf has been doing.
“The team has responded well, we are playing with a lot of energy and that showed in the last game. One change for us, Wayne Parnell is out and he will be replaced by David Willey. Faf continues to play as an impact sub,” said Virat Kohli.
