For the first time in the history of the Indian Premier League, the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur witnessed 200 runs being scored in an innings. And the milestone was fittingly achieved by the home team Rajasthan Royals.

Rajasthan Royals scored the first-ever score of 200 or more than in Jaipur in IPL during the 37th match of the ongoing IPL 2023 against Chennai Super Kings. The venue is known for not producing high-scoring games and nothing proves it more than the fact that the first-ever 200-plus total in the IPL has been scored in the 16th season of the tournament.

Before the game against Chennai Super Kings on April 27, the Sawai Mansingh Stadium had hosted a total of 48 games. And not a single team managed to touch the 200-run mark in an innings in those 48 games. Rajasthan Royals finally broke the duck by scoring 202 for 5 against CSK.

The previous highest IPL total at the venue was 197. Rajasthan Royals had scored 197 twice, against Royal Challengers Bangalore and now-defunct Deccan Chargers Hyderabad.
