Rajasthan Royals (RR) had a topsy-turvy start to their run chase of 198 runs as they lost 3 key wickets of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ravichandran Ashwin & Jos Buttler, and scored 57 runs. Devdutt Padikkal & Sanju Samson slowly started rebuilding the innings. Devdutt Padikkal was seen struggling as the required run rate was getting above 10 runs per over.

Nathan Ellis took the massive wicket of Jos Buttler which changed the complexion of the match. We all have witnessed how ruthless the dynamic Buttler can be if he gets going. PBKS bowlers made sure that they don’t panic even after getting hit for a boundary at the start of the over.

Shimron Hetmyer then came into bat. On the last delivery of the over, Nathan Ellis cramped Devdutt Padikkal for room & crashed his stumps. Nathan Ellis was quite unpredictable as the batters were clueless. He took 2 wickets of set batters in the form of Riyan Parag & Devdutt Padikkal. RR’s score at the end of 15 overs was 124-6 & they required 74 in 5 overs.

The exciting finish on the cards

PBKS would sense that they are in a state of ascendancy but RR still have the services of dashing batters present in the form of Shimron Hetmyer & Jason Holder who can clear the long boundary. Shikhar Dhawan would be aiming to wrap the innings quickly as things can change quite quickly.

The role of Arshdeep Singh would be quite pivotal as he will have to close his overs shrewdly. Nathan Ellis should be used in the death overs stage as the bowler so far has figures of 4 wickets for 14 runs in his 3 overs spell.
