Former Indian cricketers Virender Sehwag and S Sreesanth lauded youngster Arjun Tendulkar for making his debut for Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 22nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). They were delighted to see the all-rounder making his debut for the team and praised him for his performance.
Mumbai Indians won their second game of the IPL 2023 as they pounded Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 5 wickets at the Wankhede stadium. It was a decent performance from their end as they batted and bowled brilliantly to mark their second successive win.

Arjun took the new ball and bowled sensationally well in the first over as he conceded just 5 runs and then bowled a decent second over as well as he swung the ball. The left-arm pacer bowled two overs and conceded 17 runs. With the way he bowled, it is expected that team might give him a longer rope.

S Sreesanth was delighted with the way Arjun Tendulkar bowled in his first game and said that he would’ve loved to see him getting the wicket. Speaking to Star Sports, he said:
“I was the happiest person when I saw him on the ground. It’s so good to see a legend’s son and it isn’t easy for a player from a legendary family, but he came out with flying colours. And I feel he played exceptionally well for his first game.
“I would have loved to see him get a wicket and go about things. But I am very confident that having a father like Sachin Paaji will help him come good.”

Arjun Tendulkar also impressed Virender Sehwag with his bowling on debut and Sehwag said that he wanted Tendulkar to hit a six to finish the game for his side. While speaking to Cricbuzz, he said:
“He was brilliant on his debut. I wanted to see Arjun hit a six as a winning run for MI, but perhaps that is reserved for another day.”
Mumbai Indians will be next seen in action when they will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their next game on Tuesday (18th April).
