SRH won the toss & opted to bowl against the dangerous RR. RR got off to a rollicking start as they scored 85 runs in the power-play overs for the loss of 1 wicket. SRH skipper Bhuvneshwar Kumar made a mistake as he didn’t introduce Umran Malik in the power-play overs. Umran Malik has been in red-hot form over the last 6 months or so.

Jos Buttler was in a beast mode where he scored 54 runs in 22 balls & struck 7 fours and 3 sixes. After the dismissal of Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal & Sanju Samson made sure that they didn’t allow the bowlers to settle in & smashed an odd boundary in an over. SRH bowlers were clueless as the pitch was a belter.

At the end of 14 overs, RR’s score was 151-2 where Sanju Samson’s score was 39 runs in 21 balls whereas Devdutt Padikkal was on 2 runs in 4 balls. Umran Malik was bowling the 15th over & on the very first delivery, he went around the wicket & thrashed his off-stump where he bowled a length delivery with a sheer pace and Padikkal was caught by surprise. RR’s score at that time was 151-3 in 14.1 overs.

Crucial Phase for SRH

SRH skipper Bhuvneshwar Kumar would sense that they can restrict SRH below 200 runs. Bhuvneshwar will have to be smart with his remaining 2 overs as we have seen that his variations aren’t that effective. The role of T Natarajan would be quite pivotal as his left arm angle can disturb the batters.

Sanju Samson would now be aiming to bat till the end where it won’t be easy for the batters to go berserk from ball 1 despite batting-friendly conditions. RR would back themselves to score in excess of 200 as they have got the services of Shimron Hetmyer & Jason Holder still present.
