"Captaincy masterclass from KL Rahul" - Twitter reacts as LSG successfully defend another total in IPL 2024

Fans on Twitter reacted after Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) thumped Gujarat Titans (GT) in the low-scoring thriller on Sunday (7th April). The 21st Match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 took place at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

Lucknow Super Giants won the toss and opted to bat first. They had a decent outing with the bat and posted a competitive total of 163 runs on the board. They weren't off the greatest of starts as they lost Quinton de Kock (6) and Devdutt Padikkal (7) early.

But after that skipper KL Rahul (33) and Marcus Stoinis (58) brought their team back in the game. The duo stitched 73 runs together that put pressure back on the opposition. Nicholas Pooran (32*) and Ayush Badoni (20) then finished the innings on high as they ended with a total of 163. For GT, Umesh Yadav picked two wickets and was the pick of the bowlers.

Shubman Gill (19) and Sai Sudharsan (31) took Gujarat Titans off the great start in the chase, adding 54 runs for the opening partnership. But after that things didn't go their way as they lost wickets in clusters and were reduced to 61/4 in no time.

Vijay Shankar (17), Darshan Nalkande (12) and Rahul Tewatia (30) tried their best with the bat but couldn't as Lucknow Super Giants bowlers were all over the batters. They kept picking wickets at regular intervals and ensured they won their third game of the season.

Yash Thakur was the pick of the bowlers as he bagged a five-wicket haul. Krunal Pandya returned with the figures of 3/11 whereas Ravi Bishnoi and Naveen-ul-Haq picked one wicket as they bundled out Lucknow Super Giants for 130 runs to win the game by 33 runs.
