KKR Playing 11 vs CSK - IPL 2024, Match 22

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their fourth match of IPL 2024 in Chennai on April, 8. KKR have won all three matches so far. However, in Chennai Super Kings they have a formidable opposition who have a better head-to-head record against them. 

Since winning against SRH at home, KKR have been on the move winning their next two games away from home. They dominated RCB in Bengaluru and then piled up the second-highest IPL score against Delhi Capitals. 

In Phil Salt and Sunil Narine, they have some explosive openers. The decision to stick with Narine at the top has produced the results so far as he delivered two back-to-back Man of the Match performances.

Given they are playing against CSK at the Chepauk, KKR might make some tactical changes. They brought on Ankrish Raghuvanshi as the Impact Sub in the match against KKR, and Vaibhav Arora in the match against DC. They might go with SUyash Sharma as the Impact Player against CSK along with the spin twins Narine and Chakravarthy.

KKR Playing 11 vs CSK - IPL 2024, Match 22

Sunil Narine 

Narine will open the batting for KKR. He scored 47 and 85 in back-to-back games for KKR. He has already scored 137 runs with the bat at a strike rate of 206.15. 

Phil Salt (WK)

Salt scored a fifty in his debut match for KKR against SRH. In the next two games, he has the perfect foil for Sunil Narine giving crucial starts to the Knight Riders. Salt will be key with the bat. 

Angkrish Raghuvanshi

Raghuvanshi scored 54 on his IPL debut for KKR against Delhi Capitals. He played some delightful cricket shots and some copybook shots as well. With Nitish Rana suffering an injury, the youngster should get a longer run. 

Shreyas Iyer (C)

Iyer will slot in at four. He scored an unbeaten 39 off 25 balls and took KKR to victory. He scored 18 off 11 balls against DC. Iyer will have a tough task leading KKR against CSK. 

Venkatesh Iyer 

Iyer will slot in at five. He scored 50 off 30 balls against RCB and took his team to victory. He was used with the ball against DC going for 28 off the only over he bowled. 

Rinku Singh 

Rinku will slot in at six. He played a brilliant cameo against DC scoring 26 off 8 balls. He is the designated finisher for KKR. There are talks about him being included in India's T20 World Cup squad.

Andre Russell

Andre Russell will slot in at seven. He scored 41 off 18 balls against Delhi Capitals. He scored 62 against SRH and was not required with the bat against RCB. Russell has taken five wickets in three games so far. 

Mitchell Starc 

Starc came back with two wickets against Delhi Capitals after going wicketless in the first two games. He will have a key role to play against CSK and needs to keep up his wicket-taking form for KKR. 

Harshit Rana

Rana will slot in at nine. He is known to be a good batter in domestic cricket down the order. He bowled KKR to victory against SRH. Against DC, he did not bowl as he had a shoulder niggle. 

Vaibhav Arora 

Arora was used as an Impact player against DC. However, he can be drafted into the playing XI. In his very first game this season, he took three wickets for KKR.

Varun Chakravarthy 

Chakravarthy concludes KKR's probable playing XI against CSK. He took three wickets in the match against DC and has dismissed MS Dhoni thrice in his IPL career.

Impact Sub- Suyash Sharma 

Suyash Sharma should be used as the Impact Player by KKR with conditions aiding spinners in Chennai. They have used him in that role throughout the last year and it paid rich dividends. KKR used Vaibhav Arora as an Impact Sub against DC
