Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh hailed Abhishek Sharma on X after the latter shattered a stunning knock against Mumbai Indians on Wednesday, March 27. However, Yuvraj Singh also pulled his leg over his poor shot to lose his wicket.

Left-handed batter Abhishek Sharma shattered a blistering 63 off 23 in the match. He stormed 7 sixes and 3 fours during his innings to reach his half-century in just 16 balls. He held a stunning strike rate of 273+, Sharma demolished MI bowlers with his hard-hitting style.

Sunrisers Hyderabad reached a gigantic total of 277-3 in the match to script the record for the highest-ever total in IPL history. Travis Head (62 off 24) and Heinrich Klaasen (80 off 34) stormed quickfire fifties to help the team reach an inevitable total.

Yuvraj Singh hails Abhishek Sharma on X

Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh hailed Abhishek Sharma on X after his stunning knock vs MI. Notably, Yuvraj Singh has backed the young batter in the past.

Talking about the match, Sunrisers Hyderabad crushed Mumbai Indians by 31 runs in their match 8 of IPL 2024. SRH piled up a mountainous 277-3 in 1st innings with blistering half-centuries by Travis Head (62), Abhishek Sharma (63), and Heinrich Klaasen (80*). Aiden Markram also added a crucial 42 off 28.

MI slammed 76 in powerplay overs

During the chase, Mumbai Indians started with a storm, reaching 76 runs in the first 6 powerplay overs. Rohit Sharma (26 off 12), Ishan Kishan (34 off 13), and Naman Dhir (30 off 14) slammed runs at 200-plus strike rates at the start.

Later, Tilak Varma stormed 64 off 34 with 6 sixes. Tim David also smacked 42 off 22 towards the end. However, MI could only reach 246-5 till the final over and ended on the losing side. Mumbai Indians have lost 2 games out of 2 in IPL 2024. SRH has won 1 match and lost 1 out of 2. MI lost to GT in the earlier clash while SRH lost to KKR by 4 runs in their first game.

Mumbai Indians will now face Rajasthan Royals (RR) in their next match on Monday, April 1 at Wankhede Stadium. Sunrisers Hyderabad will take on Gujarat Titans in their next encounter in Ahmedabad on Sunday, March 31.
