Mumbai Indians
Mumbai Indians are one of the ten teams participating in the Indian Premier League. Popularly known as MI, they are owned by Reliance Industries, through its 100% subsidiary Indiawin Sports. They were founded in the year 2008 when the IPL started with eight teams. They play their home games at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. At present, Hardik Pandya is the captain of the team while Mark Boucher is the head coach.

Mumbai Indians are one of the most successful teams in the history of the IPL. They won their first IPL title under Rohit Sharma's captaincy in 2013. Later, they went on to become the first team to win the tournament three, four and five times. In addition to winning the IPL five times, MI have also won the now-scrapped Champions League T20 twice.

Mumbai Indians - Season-wise performance
It took Mumbai Indians five seasons to win their first IPL title. In the first edition of the IPL, they finished at the fifth spot before finishing seventh in the second edition. In 2010, MI finished at the top of the points table and went on to qualify for the final before losing to Chennai Super Kings.
They qualified for the playoffs in 2011 and 2012 as well and went on to win the title for the first time in 2013. In 2014, the Mumbai-based outfit qualified for the playoffs before winning the tournament again in 2015. They won the title again in 2017, 2019 and 2020. In 2020, they also became only the second team after Chennai Super Kings to defend the title.
