Star Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) pacer Harshal Patel is making his India debut in the second T20 International match of the three-match T20I series against Tim Southee-led New Zealand National Cricket Team on Friday, November 19 at JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi.
Harshal Patel who had a remarkable Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season was named in India’s T20I squad for the three-match T20I against New Zealand at home.

Harshal Patel bagged 32 wickets in just 15 IPL 2021 games at an average of 14.34 economy of 8.14 and strike rate of 10.56. His best bowling figures were 5/27 and he also picked an exceptional hat-trick against Mumbai Indians (MI). Harshal Patel won the Gamechanger of the season, Most Valuable Player of the season and Purple Cap award after his sensational run.

Meanwhile, Harshal Patel came in the India Playing XI replacing his Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) teammate pacer Mohammed Siraj.
“We have youngsters who want to express themselves, it’s a good setup, it’s important moving forward. We have one change, Harshal comes in for Siraj,” said Rohit Sharma after the toss.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a clip of Harshal receiving debut cap from former Indian cricketer Ajit Agarkar. BCCI captioned the post:
