Indian speedster Harshal Patel has said that India Head Coach Rahul Dravid has advised him to go out on the field and enjoy the game once he is done with the preparations.
Harshal Patel made his debut for India in the second T20 International match of the three-match T20 Internationals series against Tim Southee-led New Zealand National Cricket Team on Friday, November 19 at JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi.
Debutant Harshal performed excellently in the match and was able to bag 2 crucial wickets for India in his 4 overs quota and he gave away only 25 runs. He was also the most economical pacer for India in the match.

Meanwhile, during the innings break, he spoke to broadcasters and said that playing for the country is a great feeling and an honour for him.
“It’s a great feeling playing for the country. I love the game and the ultimate goal for any player is to play for the country, it’s an honour, it’s a privilege and I’m not going to take it for granted,” said Harshal Patel during the innings break.
The 30-year-old further added that after spending 9-10 years in domestic cricket and delivering a good performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) he has got the opportunity to play for his country. Notably, Harshal was the highest wicket-taker in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 as he picked 32 wickets in just 15 games. He asserted:
“Rahul (Dravid) sir has always told me that once you are done with the preparations, you gotta go out there and enjoy the game. After 9-10 years of domestic cricket and on the back of a good IPL I’ve reached here, so it’s a satisfying moment for me.”
Meanwhile, after scoring only 28 runs and losing 3 wickets in the last 5 overs, New Zealand were able to post 153 runs on the board against India. Chasing the target Indian openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul showed a batting masterclass.
