Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has showered praise on wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha for his sensational batting performance in the second innings of the Green Park, Kanpur Test against Kane Williamson-led New Zealand National Cricket Team on Sunday, November 28.
Wriddhiman Saha complained of stiffness in his neck before the start of play on Day 3 and the backup wicket-keeper, KS Bharat, took the field in Saha’s place. Also, in the first innings of the match, Saha was able to score only 1-run and was heavily criticised for his performance, and many thought it was his last Test game, and he will be dropped from the team.
However, Saha fought back strong in the second innings and delivered a match-saving knock on Day 4. He scored unbeaten 61 runs, and he was involved in a 64 runs partnership with Shreyas Iyer and a 67 runs partnership with Axar Patel.
