IND vs NZ: 3 Players Who Might Warm The Bench In The 2nd Test
3. Cheteshwar Pujara

Cheteshwar Pujara might be benched in IND vs NZ 2nd Test and Virat Kohli might be his replacement. Since Virat Kohli bats at the middle-order, someone out of Ajinya Rahane, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Shreyas Iyer have to be benched on his behalf.
Ajinkya Rahane is the vice-captain of the team while Shreyas Iyer gave a spectacular batting performance in the last Test. Hence, it is highly unlikely that these 2 players will warm the bench. Hence, Cheteshwar Pujara might have to warm the bench. Pujara also failed to smash good knocks in the first Test, getting out for 26 and 22 in both innings.

2. Suryakumar Yadav

Suryakumar Yadav is another player who might warm the bench in the IND vs NZ 2nd Test. He was picked in the squad as a replacement to KL Rahul, who sustained an injury. However, he was not picked in the playing XI in the first game.
With Virat Kohli making a comeback to the side in the 2nd Test and Shreyas Iyer giving a glamorous batting show in the 1st Test, Yadav will find it hard to get a spot in the playing XI in the next game.

1. Prasidh Krishna

Prasidh Krishna is the 3rd player who might be benched in the IND vs NZ 2nd Test. Krishna, who has not played any Test matches in his career so far, was picked in the squad but did not play in the first game.
Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav were the two pacers that India picked in the first Test. Even if one of these pacers is given a rest in the 2nd Test, Mohammed Siraj is more likely to replace them in the playing XI. Hence, Prasidh Krishna might have to wait for more time to make his Test debut.
