Rohit Sharma has been announced as the new skipper of the Indian Cricket Team in the T20 format, while KL Rahul will be his deputy. Virat Kohli, who has stepped down from captaincy in T20Is, has been rested for the series along with Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami.

There are a lot of fresh faces in the squad such as Venkatesh Iyer, Harshal Patel, Avesh Khan, and Ruturaj Gaikwad. All have been included on the back of exceptional performances in the IPL 2021.

Notably, Hardik Pandya has been dropped from the squad as well. Besides, the likes of Yuzvendra Chahal, Axar Patel, and Mohammad Siraj mark their return in the series.

As for New Zealand, Trent Boult and Colin de Grandhomme would be rested due to bubble fatigue. New Zealand boasts of a lot of spinners in their squad. Ajaz Patel will lead the spin attack, which also comprises William Somerville and Mitchell Santner.

IND vs NZ Series 2021 Venues

The first T20 international between India and New Zealand will be played in Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. The second and third T20 internationals will be played at JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi and Eden Gardens, Kolkata respectively.

T20 internationals will be followed by 2 Tests, the first of which will be played at Green Park, Kanpur. The second Test will be played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
