Indian Cricket Team Asks For No Pork, No Beef Only 'Halal' Food From Catering For Kanpur Test - Reports

It has been clearly mentioned in the Indian cricket team’s “catering requirements and menu” that there will be no pork and beef in any form, and only halal meat will be provided during the Kanpur Test against New Zealand.

The Test series between India and New Zealand will begin from November 25 in Kanpur, and the second and last Test match of the series will be played on December 3 at the iconic Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. This series will also be part of the WTC 2021-23.

Meanwhile, ahead of the Test game at Kanpur, the reports from NDTV stated that they have accessed the “catering requirements and menu” for Team India. In the catering requirements, two important instructions were also provided, which stated:

  “No beef and pork whatsoever in any form and variety, All meat items must be halal”

Star India opening batsman Rahul has been ruled out of the entire Test series against New Zealand. Suryakumar Yadav has been named Rahul’s replacement in the team, and he might also make his debut.

Team India batsman Mr. KL Rahul has sustained a muscle strain on his left thigh and has been ruled out of the upcoming 2-match Paytm Test series against New Zealand.

“He will now undergo rehabilitation at NCA in preparation for the series against South Africa scheduled next month. The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named Mr. Suryakumar Yadav as KL Rahul’s replacement,” the media release from BCCI read.

Meanwhile, Ajinkya Rahane will be the captain of the team for the first Test in Kanpur, and Cheteshwar Pujara will be his deputy.
