Indian young wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan said that his dream came true when he met the former Indian captain and legendary wicketkeeper MS Dhoni for the first time. Kishan recalled that he had asked Dhoni to autograph his bat when he was only 18 years old.
Ishan Kishan has established himself as one of the key players in white-ball cricket for Team India. The wicketkeeper batter from Jharkhand recently received his maiden Test call-up and will probably make his Test debut when India plays a four-match Test series at home against Australia in February.

The First Autograph That I Had Asked For Was From MS Dhoni – Ishan Kishan
In a video posted by the BCCI on Instagram, Ishan Kishan said that he took MS Dhoni’s autograph on his bat and preserved it safely.
“The first autograph that I had asked for was from MS Dhoni. I was 18 years of age and it was a dream come true for me to meet him and I still have his autograph on my bat,” Ishan Kishan said.

The 24-year-old feels that Dhoni has had a huge impact on his life as a cricketer. The southpaw said he always wanted to fill his shoes and win more games for Team India as Dhoni did in his career.

“My cricketing Idol growing up was MS Dhoni. Coming from the same place, me also playing for Jharkhand. I always wanted to fill his shoes and now that I am here, I want to win my team many games,” he added.
Ishan Kishan is part of India’s T20I squad for the three-match series against New Zealand, with the first match scheduled to be played at the JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi, on Friday, January 27. The left-handed batsman is likely to open the innings and keep the stumps as well.
