Indian Cricket Team is all set to lock horns against New Zealand for the 2nd ODI on 21st January (Saturday). The Black Caps would be keen to square the Series after a heart-wrenching defeat in the 1st ODI. The Men in Blue are still missing the services of the right-arm speedster Jasprit Bumrah due to a back injury.

India needs to bring their ‘A’ game and most importantly, the likes of Suryakumar Yadav & Hardik Pandya need to play according to their credentials. Suryakumar would be well aware of the fact that he is not a regular member of the side and would require big innings to cement the spot for the 2023 WC.

Paras Mhambrey on Jasprit Bumrah

Paras Mhambrey was seen in pre match press conference and was asked about Jasprit Bumrah. “Bumrah is a unique bowler. Let’s accept the fact that the kind of skills he brings is very difficult to replicate. It’s also an opportunity for other bowlers because you will be tested in different situations.” said Paras Mhambrey.

“It will help us understand what they bring to the game, at what stages did they bowl and how they did it. There are one-on-one discussions with them. It’s an ongoing process.” he added.

Steep Road Ahead for New Zealand

Skipper Tom Latham would be hoping that the leg spinner Ish Sodhi is fit and available for selection as he had a niggle which ruled him out of 1st ODI. It won’t be a surprise if the pitch at Raipur is a batting track which makes the contest exciting.

India should think of using Shardul Thakur as a floater as he has the knack of playing a breezy cameo. It would be interesting to see whether the management drops Washington Sundar and brings back the star leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal into the setup.
