The 11th match of the Pakistan Super League 2022 will have Karachi Kings take on Peshawar Zalmi at National Stadium on Friday. Karachi Kings have made a disastrous start to their campaign, having lost all three matches they have played in the tournament thus far. With 3 losses in 3 games, Karachi Kings are currently languishing at the bottom of the points table.

They played their last game against Lahore Qalandars. Karachi Kings batted first in that encounter and managed to put on a competitive score of 170 runs on the board. Sharjeel Khan carried on his good form in the tournament as he scored a vital 60-run knock in 39 balls. Skipper Babar Azam too made a crucial contribution of 41 runs in 33 deliveries.

The duo put on an 84-run partnership for the opening wicket. However, the other batsmen in the batting unit made very little contribution. Karachi Kings could have added 20 runs more to the total had someone from the middle-order played a good cameo in the death overs.

Lahore Qalandars, in reply, chased down the score in 19.2 overs. Fakhar Zaman singlehandedly helped Lahore chase down the score with 4 balls remaining in the match. Peshawar Zalmi, on the other hand, have a solitary win to their name in 3 matches. They are coming into the encounter on the back of two consecutive losses. Peshawar Zalmi too played their last game against Lahore Qalandars.

Lahore Qalandars batted first and managed to put on a mammoth score of 199 runs in the first innings. For Peshawar Zalmi, the bowling unit looked toothless. No one in the bowling unit made an impact with the ball.

And, in response to the score, Peshawar Zalmi managed 170 runs in the second innings, thereby losing the game by 29 runs. Kamran Akmal played a vital knock of 41 runs in 24 balls, while Haider Ali also found form with a 49-run knock in 34 deliveries.

However, the duo received little support from the other batsmen. Overall, it was a disappointing performance from the Peshawar Zalmi. They should look to improve in all facets of the game and make a statement on Friday.
