“I wanted to end PSL on a good note but I have been playing with the lower-back injury for 15-16 years now and the pain is quite intense where I feel it in my groin, knee and even the fingers of the foot. Health is everything and I can’t further endure the pain” Afridi said in the video.
He further asked his gans to keep him in their prayers and promised to come back to the field in the upcoming season of the Kashmir Premier League (KPL). Afridi said that his rehabilitation would take two to three months. Meanwhile, heading into the PSL season, Afridi was affected by the dreaded Covid virus. He returned once he tested negative but could not make impactful performances.
“I will come back on the field once again for my fans, keep me in your prayers,” he said.
