Babar Azam’s 11th T20 ton in the PSL 2024 match sparked talks about his comparisons with Virat Kohli. The former Pakistan skipper who is amongst the top-scorers in T20 cricket scored an unbeaten 111 against Islamabad United in Peshawar’s last match.
Babar Azam now has two hundreds in the PSL and 30 fifty-plus scores the most by any batter in the league. He has now scored 3265 runs in 84 PSL games. His recent batting exploits won him a Morris Garages car by the PSL owner Javed Afridi.
Meanwhile, a random Babar fan on Twitter shared a video of Babar and Kohli playing a similar shot referring that both the batters are now on the “same page”. Babar played the shot in the 20th over of Peshawar’s innings.
He played a delivery from Faheem Ashraf between the gully and point for a boundary, very similar to the shot played by Virat Kohli in the Asia Cup 2023 match against Pakistan. Kohli and KL Rahul both scored centuries in that game as India defeated Pakistan.

“She came for the first time (talking about his mom). Very happy. She always watches from home. Good luck for me that she came and I scored hundred. This is my best one. Saim and I realised pitch was good, so we looked for 200. But then we lost 3 wickets. Paul has a bit of a hamstring problem, so was off the field. Azam got out, so I just took a chance with Yaqoob. All credit to him, didn’t panic, believed in his bowling. Weren’t up to the mark in first two matches. Hope to carry the momentum now” Babar said after leading his team to victory.
Babar Azam joined Peshawar Zalmi as their skipper last season. He took them to the playoffs last season and is eyeing to make it to the final this year.
