Quetta Gladiators wicketkeeper Sarfaraz Ahmed was nearly injured by fellow teammate Mohammad Wasim Jr during the Pakistan Super League match against Multan Sultans. Sarfaraz was hit by Wasim Jr on his head when the pacer threw the ball in the air after taking the catch of Multan batsman Reeza Hendricks. The right-handed batter tried to hit a lofted shot towards the mid-wicket region but was caught by Wasim Jr on the boundary.
Mohammad Wasim Jr. was pumped up and threw the ball in the air which went on to hit Sarfaraz Ahmed’s head. Sarfaraz fell on the field and needed immediate medical help. The gravity of the situation became clear when he was promptly hauled off the field and transported to a hospital for a full CT scan.
Sarfaraz Ahmed was replaced by wicketkeeper Sajjad Ali as a concussion substitute after which Sarfaraz didn’t come out to bat in the second innings.

Mohammad Ali was the star of the show for the Multan Sultans and picked up a 3 wicket haul and was also named the Player of the Match.
This was the first loss for the Gladiators in the tournament and are currently placed in the second spot with three wins and six points. Multan top the table with their fourth win from the 5th game and 8 points.
Quetta Gladiators and Multan Sultans have been brilliant in the PSL 2024 so far and have displayed brilliant cricket. On the other hand, defending champions Lahore Qalandars are placed at the bottom of the table with four losses from four games. The team’s bowling has been pathetic in the tournament so far and the Shaheen Shah Afridi-led side is missing Rashid Khan.
