Indian Cricket Team is facing a lot of injuries at the moment. After Bumrah’s injury, now Deepak Chahar is injured with a twisted ankle. The pacer is assumed to have got an injury in the 1st ODI against South Africa. The pacer would be worried as he was on the radar of the selectors for ICC T20 World Cup 2022. The management would be worried as to how to find quality players on the 11th hour.
Deepak Chahar has shown that he has good control over line and length. The right-arm pacer has got an excellent slower ball and off-cutter where he keeps the bowler guessing. The bowler is a bit injury prone which now is hurting Team India.
Deepak Chahar Injury Update
A Source close to Selection Issues made a statement on Deepak Chahar’s injury. “Deepak has sustained a twisted ankle but it’s not too serious. However a few days of rest might be advisable.” the source said.
“So it will be team management’s call if they would like to risk Deepak as he is in T20 World Cup stand-by list. In any case, if there is requirement there, it would be a priority.” the source added.
Mohammed Shami Comeback On Cards
Deepak Chahar was expected to be the most likely pacer to replace Bumrah; but now it looks like Shami would get the nod ahead of him. Shami has been seen practicing and trying his best to be match-fit. Indian Cricket Team has got time till 16th October to name the replacement for Bumrah.
Shami’s inclusion won’t be a like-for-like replacement for Bumrah but it would be ideal. Shami was a part of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 in Australia as he knows the conditions quite well. The right arm pacer creates a very good angle and at the same time can help youngsters in crunch situations. It would be interesting to see what decision the selection panel makes as this time there are high expectations from the team.
