South African Cricket Team suffered a massive defeat in the 3rd ODI. The visitors lost the ODI Series after taking a 1-0 lead. The team was quite unfortunate to not have Temba Bavuma for the last two ODIs as he was ill. South Africa had a powerful squad yet they lost an ODI Series against a second-string Indian Side.

India on the other side would be overjoyed as now they have got a pool of players who can beat any team. Men in Blue have shown a lot of character and intent. Head Coach VVS Laxman did a good job in the absence of Rahul Dravid who currently is in Australia for T20 World Cup 2022.

Mark Boucher on Fatigue

Mark Boucher was seen interacting after the match and was asked about the travelYou can’t expect the players – especially with the schedule we’ve had – to be up for every single game. That is where you have to rely on your technical and mental side to pull you through,” said Boucher.

We’ve been a little bit weak in both those departments. Today especially I thought there were soft dismissals up front and then one or two technical things on a wicket that was quite uneven in its turn – one turned, one didn’t – and we were found out there. I allude back to keeping the players fresh so that the mental part of their game is right up there along with the technical side. I think then we can get the best results from these players.” added the Head Coach.

Brilliant Comeback from India

The biggest positive from the ODI Series was Mohammed Siraj. The right-arm pace bowler was the man of the series and now he has made a strong case for himself in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022. The speedster has shown good control which is invaluable.

The skipper Shikhar Dhawan would have mixed feelings as he wasn’t able to contribute significantly with the bat. He would be well aware of the fact that his place in ODIs is not assured. The Selection Panel would be rethinking naming Dhawan in the upcoming ODIs.
