IND vs SA: Felt Really Nice Meeting Such A Legend – Umran Malik On Rahul Dravid

India National Cricket Team pacer Umran Malik expressed delight at meeting legendary batter and India head coach, Rahul Dravid, in India’s first training session at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Umran Malik has been one of the most talked-about names in the Indian cricket circuit after his performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

In the recently concluded IPL 2022, Umran Malik, while playing for the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH), bagged 22 wickets in 14 games and finished as the fourth-highest wicket-taker.

Many cricket legends and pundits asked for Umran Malik’s inclusion in the senior Indian team, including former India head coach Ravi Shastri, and the right-arm express pacer got his India call-up for the home T20I series against the South Africa National Cricket Team.

Speaking in an interview with the BCCI, Umran Malik said that he was excited to join the Indian squad. He asserted:

“I was really excited for the first day with the team. It was a big day because joining Team India practice is really exciting. Was positive that I would bowl well in the nets, has that confidence. Everyone here are like brothers.”

While talking about his meeting with the head coach Dravid, Umran said that Dravid told him that he is on the right path. He said:

“I was really delighted at the prospect of talking with Rahul Dravid. Felt really nice meeting such a legend. He told me to keep continuing what I am doing and that I am on the right path.”

Umran was also happy to learn things from head coach Dravid and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey in his first training session with the team. He said:

“Paras Mhambrey was telling me what to do with each ball in training and I got a lot of confidence from that. It was really good learning from him and Dravid on my first day.”

Meanwhile, the five-match T20 series between India and South Africa will begin in Delhi on Thursday, followed by matches in Cuttack (June 12), Visakhapatnam (June 14), Rajkot (June 17), and Bengaluru (June 19).
