IND vs SA: “Not Thinking Too Much About Result, Just Focusing On Process” – Kuldeep Yadav After Winning POTM Award In 3rd ODI

The left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav was adjusted Player of the Match in the third and final match of the three-match One Day International (ODI) series between Shikhar Dhawan-led India National Cricket Team and David Miller-led South Africa National Cricket Team on Tuesday, October 11, at the Arun Jaitley stadium in New Delhi.
India National Cricket Team won the toss and invited South Africa National Cricket Team to bat first in the match. The Proteas batters struggled against the hosts’ bowling unit and got bowled out for 99. This was South Africa’s 4th lowest total in the history of ODI cricket.

The wicketkeeper-batter Heinrich Klaasen was the top-scorer for the visitors with 34 runs under his belt and Kuldeep Yadav with 4 wickets in his bag was the top wicket-taker for India. Also, pacer Mohammed Siraj, spinner Shahbaz Ahmed and spinner Washington Sundar picked up 2 wickets each.
Chasing the target, captain Shikhar Dhawan failed to perform well for the third consecutive time in the series and got run out for 8. Also, Ishan Kishan scored only 10 runs. However, Shubman Gill (49) and Shreyas Iyer (28*) batted brilliantly to help India win the match by 7 wickets and the series by 2-1.

Kuldeep Yadav, who won the Player of the Match award for his figures of 4.1-1-18-4 in the match, during the post-match presentation ceremony, said that he is delighted to bag the Player of the Match award. The left-arm wrist spinner also said that he is not thinking “too much about the result” and his entire focus is on the process and rhythm. He said:
“Feeling very happy, to be honest. Getting the Player of the Match award, the wicket was perfect and I am enjoying my bowling. I am not thinking too much about the result, just focusing on the process and focusing on my rhythm.”
Kuldeep Yadav further asserted that his next goal is to deliver a good performance in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2022. He said:
“I am trying to bowl in good areas. Not thinking too much, my next target is to perform well in the Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament.”
