Indian Cricket Team registered a thumping victory against South Africa in the 3rd ODI. The Men in Blue had a clinical performance with both bat and ball. India would be delighted as they were playing with a second-string side where all the senior cricketers are in Australia for T20 World Cup Preparations.

India was given a small target of 100 runs by Proteas. The opener Shubman Gill would be regretting that he missed out on a half-century by 1 run. The batter was looking in a rhythm where he had smashed 8 fours. The batter slowly is making a strong statement for ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

Shubman Gill on his Dismissal

After the match, he was quite frustrated with the way he got out. “Quite disappointed by the way I got out. But all the learnings from the series – the way we were down and the way we came back was tremendous. The bowlers did a great job in this series. Really pleasing series for us.” said Gill.

“There were a lot of young players, including myself. The way we came back showed we have the character that it takes. The talk was just to express ourselves and trust the process. It doesn’t matter what the result is.” Gill added.

Terrible Outing for South Africa

The South African Team would be in shock after this performance. The team received a massive blow when Temba Bavuma & Keshav Maharaj were ruled out of the match. South Africa now is at the brink of getting out of direct qualification for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

It looked as if the Proteas were exhausted.  The batters showed no intent at all and they played the waiting game a bit too long. There were no significant demons in the pitch. South Africa needs to be consistent rather than throwing away matches as now there’s only 1 year left for ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
