Indian Cricket Team won the 2nd ODI Match against South Africa in a grand fashion. The Men in Blue made a statement that they can still beat a strong South African team with the second string of players. The billion people would be overjoyed after seeing such a dominating performance as India won the contest with more than 4 overs remaining.

Shreyas Iyer was the stand-out performer for India. The right-handed batter smashed a fantastic century; smashing Rabada & Nortje is never easy as the duo can easily fox the batter. It looks like Shreyas wanted to make a case for himself for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

The peculiarity of his innings was that he never looked under pressure. He along with Ishan Kishan were making sure that they are rotating the strike and frustrating the bowler. Even on a flat deck, South African bowlers tried their best to eke out a wicket but the duo was unstoppable.

Ishan Kishan missed a golden chance of smashing his maiden ODI Century. He got out on 93 runs but his innings would be remembered for a long time as he was literally toying with the bowlers. The duo would be hoping that they continue their good work in the 3rd ODI and avoid a series defeat.

The Wicket Was Playing Good- Shreyas Iyer

During post match presentation, Shreyas was asked about the wicket and about his partnership with Ishan Kishan. “When I went into bat, felt that the wicket was playing good. The talk between me and Ishan was to play the ball on merit, build a partnership.”

He was asked about the 3rd ODI.

“Tomorrow is going to be a travel day, and then the match. Let’s see what is in store for me (regarding his fitness for next game).”

He was asked whether he changes his batting according to the bowler.

I’m not someone who changes according to the bowler. I am someone who changes on instinct and believing in myself.”
