South African Cricket Team had a dream start while defending 279 runs. There is nothing significant in the pitch as bowlers need to be consistent with their line & length. The Proteas got rid of Shikhar Dhawan & Shubman Gill inside power-play overs and gave a setback to Indian Cricket Team.

The field placements set by Keshav Maharaj have been top-notch. It looks as if Keshav has been doing captaincy for years. The fielders have made sure that they are not giving any extra runs to Indian batters. It would be interesting to see how South Africa defends this target as a 100-run partnership can end the match.

Kagiso Rabada Gets Rid Off Dangerous Shubman Gill

Indian Cricket Team was rocked by the dismissal of Shikhar Dhawan once again. The left-handed batter now has got dismissed by Wayne Parnell on back-to-back occasions. Shubman was looking in sublime touch and was all set for a big hundred. He was clearing the boundaries quite easily. In the 5th ball of the 9th over Rabada made Shubman Gill to drive where the speedster took a brilliant catch. At that time India’s score was 48-2 where still a lot of runs were required.

Steep Run Chase for India

Even if the target is 279 runs, India would be worried as they are a batter short. The likes of Ishan Kishan or Shreyas Iyer need to bat long as there should be clarity of roles amongst the two. There are chances that the dew may come into the game where bowling becomes harder for the batters.

South Africa on the other hand needs to pick wickets at regular intervals. They can only win if they bundle out India. Rabada should be used in short spells of 3 overs in the middle overs phase. The outcome of this match would most likely depend on Anrich Nortje as the pacer can easily rattle the Indian batting lineup.
