IND vs SA: Will Give My Best Whenever I Get The Opportunity – Ravi Bishnoi

Indian leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi promised to give his best performance in the upcoming five-match T20I series against South Africa.

India is scheduled to host the Proteas for five T20 Internationals between June 9 and 19 before they leave for the United Kingdom to play Ireland (two T20Is) and England (one Test, three ODIs and three T20Is).

Bishnoi was named in the 18-member squad led by KL Rahul for the T20I series against Temba Bavuma and his men. The Rajasthan player will be one of the spin options to explore with the likes of Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel in the five games.

Bishnoi rose to prominence during his U19 World Cup days, ending as the leading wicket-taker of the 2020 U19 WC with 17 wickets in six matches.

With impressive performance for Punjab Kings in consecutive seasons, picking 12 wickets each year, earned him India call-up for the West Indies T20I series early in February.

The 21-year-old had a dream debut to cherish as he returned with the figures of 4-0-17-2 against the West Indies. He bowled 22 of his 24 deliveries as googlies in his stupendous spell where he picked the wickets of Roston Chase and Rowman Powell.

The leg-spinner bowled 16 dot balls in his tight spell despite conceding six wide deliveries.

Bishnoi is currently playing for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2022, having snapped 12 wickets in 13 games at an economy rate of 8.22.

“I am very excited because it is a good opportunity for me as playing for India is everyone’s dream. I will give my best whenever I get the opportunity,” Bishnoi said in a video posted on LSG’s social media handles.

“It feels good that my LSG teammates will be there with me for the South Africa series. We will try our best to win our upcoming knockout fixture in the IPL,” he added.

LSG will play Royal Challengers Bangalore on Wednesday in the Eliminator fixture at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
